President Paul Kagame has arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he began his official visit with a bilateral meeting with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The meeting, held ahead of the 9th edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII9), underscored the growing strength of cooperation between Rwanda and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia across sectors of mutual priority.
According to a statement from the Office of the President, the discussions between the two leaders focused on consolidating economic ties and exploring new avenues of collaboration in investment, technology, and sustainable development.
The meeting comes at a time when both nations are deepening their engagement within the broader context of Africa–Gulf relations, with Rwanda positioning itself as a strategic partner for innovation and green growth.
President Kagame’s visit coincides with his participation in the Future Investment Initiative, one of the world’s most influential economic gatherings, which brings together global leaders, investors, and policymakers to discuss the future of global economies.
The 2025 edition, themed “Investing in a New Global Order,” focuses on strengthening economic security, sustainable growth, and the role of innovation in shaping resilient societies.
Kagame is expected to deliver a keynote address on strategies to foster sustainable and secure economic growth, sharing Rwanda’s experience in building a resilient digital economy and advancing governance reforms that promote accountability and long-term development.
His insights are anticipated to highlight Africa’s role in redefining global investment flows and innovation-driven growth.

The three-day forum, organized by the Future Investment Initiative Institute, features high-level discussions on global investment trends, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and inclusive growth.
Kagame will share the stage with other world leaders, including the Presidents of Guyana, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Colombia, and Albania, as well as the Prime Minister of Bermuda.
Rwanda’s participation in this year’s FII marks another step in its efforts to expand international partnerships and attract strategic investments aligned with Vision 2050. The country has recently strengthened cooperation with Gulf nations in areas such as aviation, energy, and hospitality, with Saudi Arabia emerging as a key partner.
Through his presence in Riyadh, President Kagame reaffirms Rwanda’s commitment to global dialogue on sustainable development, emphasizing that economic security and international collaboration remain vital to creating shared prosperity in an increasingly interconnected world.
