The University of Rwanda has embraced with optimism Cabinet’s appointment of Dr. Pradeep Khosla as the new Chairperson of the Board of Governors.
He steps into the role alongside five accomplished members: Vice Chairperson Murenzi Ivan and Board Members Professor Winston Wole Soboyejo, Charles Karakye, Samantha Teta, and Josephine Nyiranzeyimana.
Vice Chancellor Assoc. Prof Kayihura M. Didas extended warm congratulations to the incoming team, describing the moment as “an opportunity to deepen the University’s mission of delivering knowledge that responds to national priorities.”
He added that the institution stands ready to work hand in hand with the Board, noting, “Our commitment is firm, we will collaborate closely to strengthen UR’s academic impact through relevant, research-driven and evidence-based solutions.”
The University also paid tribute to the outgoing Board led by Professor Paul Davenport, with Dr. Diane Karusisi serving as Vice Chairperson.
Their leadership has been central in guiding UR since its establishment in 2013, shaping policies and reforms that positioned the institution as Rwanda’s flagship centre of higher learning.
As the new Board assumes its mandate, UR signals continuity anchored in renewed energy. “The mission remains the same, but our resolve grows stronger,” Kayihura said, expressing confidence that the incoming leadership will steer the University into its next phase of institutional excellence and national contribution.
