Spiro has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering on its promise to revolutionize urban mobility through the ongoing rollout of its electric motorcycles, with deliveries currently being completed in phases.
The company began dispatching bikes in April 2025, and many early applicants have already received their motorcycles under a first-come, first-served policy.
In an official statement dated June 2, 2025, Spiro announced that deliveries are taking place in batches and that all customers who have already received their bikes were contacted by phone and guided through the pickup process.
“For those who haven’t been contacted yet, please be rest assured that you will be contacted soon,” the company stated, adding that more staff have been deployed to support customer service, make follow-up calls, and oversee deliveries at various locations.
Spiro emphasized that its initiative is part of a broader mission to promote sustainable transportation by offering eco-friendly and affordable electric mobility solutions.
The company is spearheading efforts to electrify Africa’s transportation sector through a wide network of charging infrastructure, including battery-swapping and direct-charging stations.

In Rwanda alone, Spiro operates 70 active battery-swapping stations, with an additional 56 under development to meet growing demand.
Its electric motorcycles are already a familiar sight on city streets, and the company’s infrastructure is supported by local assembly lines to ensure efficiency and scalability.
The push for electric mobility aligns with a government directive set to take effect in January 2025, which requires all newly registered public transport motorcycles in Kigali to be electric. The measure is designed to reduce urban pollution and encourage the adoption of clean energy alternatives.
In response to this policy, Spiro launched a limited-time promotion in November 2024 on its flagship EKON M3 electric bike. Originally priced at Rwf1.95 million, the bikes were offered at Rwf750,000 with a deposit of Rwf75,000 to secure reservations. The offer received overwhelming interest.
“To date, 3,500 Spiro bikes are already on the road. 3,515 have been booked, 1,656 fully paid for, and 1,470 successfully deployed,” the company confirmed, signaling the strong demand and growing acceptance of electric motorcycles among Rwandan riders.
Spiro assured its customers that every effort is being made to meet expectations, highlighting its long-term vision to support green mobility and sustainable development across the continent.
