Rwanda continues to position itself as a digital leader on the continent, with recent diplomatic engagements reflecting growing international partnerships in technology and innovation.
On June 10, 2025, the Minister of ICT and Innovation, Paula Ingabire Musoni, held a high-level meeting with His Excellency Ambassador Aslan Alper Yüksel of the Republic of Turkey in Kigali.
The courtesy visit underscored the warm and enduring relationship between Rwanda and Turkey. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation, particularly in the area of digital transformation, a priority on Rwanda’s national development agenda.
“Today, Minister Paula Musoni received a courtesy visit from H.E. Ambassador Aslan Alper Yüksel of Turkey. They reaffirmed the strong ties between Rwanda and Turkey and discussed ways to deepen collaboration in advancing the digital transformation agenda,” read a statement from the Ministry of ICT and Innovation.
The visit also served as an opportunity to reflect on Rwanda’s recent success in hosting the Global AI Summit on Africa (GAISA2025), a landmark event that attracted stakeholders from across the world to discuss the continent’s role in shaping the future of artificial intelligence.
This engagement builds on a growing pattern of strategic alliances between Rwanda and international partners focused on innovation, infrastructure, and knowledge exchange.
With technology at the heart of Rwanda’s Vision 2050, such bilateral dialogues are vital in enabling access to expertise, investment, and emerging digital solutions that will power inclusive growth across sectors.
As Rwanda accelerates its digital agenda, partnerships like the one with Turkey offer opportunities to share knowledge and co-develop tools that ensure no one is left behind in the digital age.
