RwandAir has earned one of the airline industry’s most prestigious accolades, taking home the title of Best Regional Airline in Africa at the 2025 World Airline Awards held in Paris.
The ceremony, organized by Skytrax, marked yet another milestone in the airline’s steady rise as a standout carrier on the African continent.
The announcement was made during the Paris Air Show on June 17, 2025 with Skytrax praising RwandAir for its continued investment in delivering a superior travel experience.
According to Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, the airline’s commitment to quality was key to this year’s win, stating that it has created an experience that stands out in its category, professional, considered, and personal as it continues to evolve its regional product with confidence
“RwandAir continues to distinguish itself through a clear focus on service attention, and we congratulate them on winning this award as the Best Regional Airline in Africa at the 2025 World Airline Awards,” said Plaisted.
The recognition comes as no surprise to many regional travelers who have watched RwandAir grow into a preferred carrier.
Over the years, the airline has become a regular presence at the World Airline Awards, gradually climbing the ranks through enhanced services, punctuality, and customer engagement.
Following the announcement, the airline took to social media to express its gratitude, thanking its passengers for their continued trust by flying with them as well as dedicating the award to them.

Skytrax highlighted that the awards are the result of an independent, global passenger satisfaction survey that has been conducted annually since 1999. The 2025 edition drew more than 22.3 million entries from travelers across over 100 nationalities, between September 2024 and May 2025.
Passengers evaluated airlines across multiple touchpoints of the travel experience, from check-in and cabin comfort to inflight service, making the awards one of the most comprehensive measures of customer satisfaction in global aviation.
This recognition reaffirms RwandAir’s position as a trusted regional leader and reflects Rwanda’s growing influence in African air transport.
