Bugesera FC head coach Francis Haringingo has said it will be a “do or die” in the league relegation battle as his struggling team visits Police on Friday afternoon at Kigali Pele Stadium. The Marines are 15th on the 16-team league table, with 25 points, while Police are fifth with 39 points and have nothing to lose after missing out on the title and cannot be relegated, with three matches remaining.

Bugesera need a win desperately so that they can remain in the top division. Haringingo believes victory over Police will put his team in a good position to save their season. The club has never been relegated ever since being promoted to the topflight in 2013. Haringingo said: “It has to be a do or die now. We have to go for wins and that’s exactly what we will do against Police.”
The Bugesera FC head coach is optimistic his side is fully focused on winning their remaining matches. “You know the position we are in the league is not good. I can assure you that we will not suffer relegation. We will fight till the end. We will win all our three remaining games,” he added.
After the Police game, Bugesera will take on Muhazi United who are ninth in the table with 33 points, on May 5, and conclude their campaign against bottom side Etoile de l’Est on May 11. Bugesera will need to win all their games and wait to see if Etoile de l’Est (25 points), Sunrise (26 points) can drop points in the last three games.
